Decent weekend
Took my son fishing on Friday evening at the west fork of the stones in hopes to catch a few little largemouth or even spots. Found pods of bait everywhere and nothing really pushing them around so I was a little discouraged. Usually the bluffs are good for a half dozen fish, anyways but not this time out. Was still able to keep him in the game with one bass on a plastic worm.
On Saturday had a very interesting catch on the Buffalo River. I know that stripers like to roam but I had no idea they (assumption) go up into the Duck from the Tennessee and then yet even further up into the Buffalo (not far up but still). Nothing big but it was exciting to see one a little larger than this literally try to steal the bait out of this fish's mouth much like smallmouth do when competing. I'm shocked that even one striper is there and yet I have never witnessed one sauger in the Buffalo. Maybe sauger work their way up late in the fall?
