Default Got myself shown up at the creek...

Hit the creek today and I caught a bunch of fish. Small ones mainly but the target today was smallies and largemouth. I had several blowups on my hopper pattern but that was not even close to the most memorable thing of the day.

Here is my 4 year old fighting her first smallie on the fly rod. I roll casted it under an over hang for her because she wanted a turn to fish. Hopper landed, was blown up and after a quick strip set by me the rod was her's to close the deal.

Click on top pic for the video.

I was grinning pretty good but she may have beat me there too...

Brought a smile to my face. Two little fighters duken it out to the end. I see some well deserved pride coming through in that grin too. Congrats!

That's awesome man! Getting them started early!! That's a nice looking creek, can you give a general area where that is? I don't know of any smallmouth creeks. I'd like to explore some areas like that

I am not sure if Travis will tell you the creek...LOL. It really looks like a nice place. There is a creek down in Wayne County that is chock full of Smallies and the water is gin clear. It is named Forty Eight Creek. I fished it a couple of years back from the bank...awesome. I have since found out that you can float it. REI has a book that tells about that trip. Will have to investigate that further and make sure someone is with me if I try it. Those are great pics Travis...nice to fish with the kids. It doesn't take much water in one of those to hold good fish either. When I fished Forty Eight Creek the part I fished had the same type of places as in your pics.

Regards
