Default New to Tennessee, Love to Fish

Good afternoon everyone,

I joined yesterday and have enjoyed the information thus far. I've lived in Goodlettsville for a year now (from central IL originally) and have been getting back into fishing. Was on Dale Hollow last week and caught my first 20"+ Smallie w/ Fishfindergeneral guiding. Hoping to hit OH and Percy Priest over the summer but am somewhat intimidated by the size of those bad boys.

Would be wise to get a black light and fish at night. This time of year it is hard to fish Dale Hollow during the day due to pleasure boaters.

regards

I am not sure if you mean iPhone app fishfinder, that was a useless app for me, since most of the locations recorded around me refers to homes and far from any water body.

And welcome.

Dont worry Alpha. All I do is fish at night from May until mid Oct. It is much more peaceful out there at night and I think the fishing is better.

I actually found the site on my own. I was looking at fishin.com and then decided to try to find a message board more local, which led me here. And I must say, more impressed with this message board than fishin.com (although I didn't spend much time there once I landed here). As far as fishing dale hollow goes, we spent a week there and had little luck (except when fishfindergeneral was guiding). However, we were fishing during the day and everyone recommended the night bite. But on a family vacation, it's a little tough to get away with night fishing. Highly recommend fishfindergeneral by the way if looking for a guide for Dale Hollow (I learned quite a bit about trolling).

Dave (fishfindergeneral) said last week the lower part of the lake has been fishing terrible. Even having hard time finding baitfish. He said the lake went through a spring turnover which never happens.

Just have to ask, what is between the fish and the women?

Default Between the Fish and the Girls

Haha. She was wearing a bikini but the fish was just big enough to block it out. Although that pic may get Dave a few more clients lol.

I gotta admit, that picture is a hoot. It sure looks like she was fishing topless. And those are a coupla real nice smallies. What were their lengths?

Smile Smallie Sizes

The smallie I'm holding came in at 21 in. and her smallie was 19.5 in. Although hers looks much larger than mine. I'm going to assume frame size has something to do with that. The saddest realization of my day was when I looked at the picture, thought what an amazing fish, then realized she looked topless. I'm obviously a little obsessed with the fish. However, her reaction to catching that fish was priceless. She's determined to get a replica to give to her Dad. I guess she never fishes and he has multiple replicas in his basement. Sounds like the best gift I could think of. And I've never seen a woman in a bikini move that fast to reel in a fish. It was impressive as she was sunbathing when the fish hit.

I believe we were trolling around 20 feet when we hooked the rainbow although I'm not certain. I would have to ask Dave what the exact lure was, but it was some form of a medium sized spoon. I believe we caught all 3 fish on that lure.
