Default Saturday fishing in the cold!

Well I really wanted to fish saturday morning, so even though it was off and on raining and post cold front, I decided to try out a new spot for some bluegills. It sure started slow, but once I found some, it was game on! They were not aggressive at all andI caught a lot of small ones, but did manage a few nice ones! These pictured were just under 9 inches and almost 9 1/2 inches.

All were caught on crickets. I tried trout magnets even after I found them and they wouldn't even look at them! But once the sun comes back out and we get some stable warm temps I think there will be even bigger ones there! And I know they will hit the artificials!

Alphahawk, if you are reading this, I feel your pain about finding some shellcrackers on their beds. I found a 30 foot stretch of shoreline with atleast a dozen of them and some were well over 10 inches. Just sitting on beds and they wouldn't even look at my bait! Live or artificial! Still looking to catch my first shellcracker!

Anyways it was a good time and the fish were very colorful!

Good looking gills. Those things sure are fun to catch on light gear.
