One thing to remember about most World Record listings for fish is that they only list fish legally caught on rod and reel. If you look at commercial fishing records or other sources you will see that some speceis have been recorded much bigger than the all tackle world records. Like striped bass for instance, Maryland DNR has a mount of a 90+ pound that they shocked up or caught in a net. The largest striped bass ever recorded was a 125# beast.

Smile Up Date on Striped Bass .. <'TK><

The 1978 record of 78.8 Striper was beat on 8-4-2011 with a 81.88 pounder in Conn. The largest caught was a 92 but not an IGF record because it was caught in a net by the Dept of Natural Res. in Maryland ... THESE ARE SALT WATER RECORDS !!

TheFRESH WATER record is 67.8 in 1992 caught in Calif. (not sure if it was a land locked lake or a migration from the saltwater to spawn) Tennessee, Two time State record holder, Ralph Dallas caught a 65.6 pounder in Cordel Hull in May of 2000 ... (My personal best was 62.1 <'TK><)

Check out this website on Striped Bass records ... http://www.striperspace.com/about_striped_bass.html <'TK><
