Default Crappie on the Tennessee

I went with Mike Loftis up on the Tennesse River above I-40. We caught hundreds of small ones and about half a limit of keepers. If this keeps up the season will be a hot one. Mike must know what he was doing because we were the only ones catching keepers.

Good deal. I wish the catch ratio for short fish and keepers was better. You must have been near Birdsong Marina. Crappie are a tasty treat this time of year. did you see any sauger fisherman around the duck River?

A friend who fish Ky lake says they are catching limits of BIG crappie spider riggin in 11-15 ft of water.

I'm about ready to haul on over there and give it a try.

the reports I am getting is about a dozen shorts to a keeper. That might change a little closer to the spawn. I might try to get over there next week. I would like to see the water come down about 2 more feet.
