Default Cherokee 11/13 and 11/14

Fished up around point 24 and found tons of tiny shad on the surface. Used Gizz 4's and Flitterbaits to catch most of our fish. Here's a few pictures.

Default Looks awesome

Been finding the same type fishing on Tim's Ford. Fall topwater is some of the most exciting fishing of the year, though it looks like you are subsurface I am pretty sure it is mostly the same pattern. Correct me if I'm way off here. We usually keep two rods each when fishing this pattern, one surface and one subsurface. It can get so crazy my fishing partner hooked me in the leg trying to do a fancy side cast to some surfacing fish. New rule, overhead casts only, just glad I can still have children.

These stripers were acting different. They were keyed in on tiny one inch long shad. They really didn't want to hit an individual lure. The only thing that seemed to work was to throw the Gizz 4 crankbait right on top of where they were feeding and just to a twitch-twitch-pause retreive to imitate an injured shad. We did find one school of stripers that were really busting bigger shad on the surface and was able to get one on a Smack Jack top water bait. Yes it gets crazy. No side arm casts allowed. I got a lure upside the head one night. Thanks to a toboggan, I didn't get any hooks in me. Here's a picture on my buddy with two he caught at the same time. One on a Smack Jack and one on live bait.
