Default Nice Brown from the Caney!

My son caught this using 3# test with 2 # test fluorocarbon leader. The lure was the 1/64 Trout Magnet he was fishing under the float letting it drift. He was all alone and no one to really help him land the fish...which was too big for the net. There was a guy that came over to snap the photo...not a good one though. He was in a rush to get fish back in water. After photo fish was swam around and was full of life as he was released. He had been wanting a fish like this for a long time. I know he is proud and I am proud of him.

Great fish. The size limits are really helping to improve the quality of the fish in the river.

My son is 32. He guesstimated easy 10 pounds. I have caught some big Browns but nothing like that. I have caught several in the 4 to 6 pound range. Caught one 2 weeks ago that would have gone close to 7 but the pic of it looks small compared to that thing. He was so stressed out after catching that he just went home...LOL. We are both avid ultra light guys and it does get stressful when you get a big fish on using all your skill and lots of luck to get one like that in.

Regards

Very nice fish. I am certain your son got a heck of a rush landing it on light tackle.
