NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Metro Water department has issued an important water alert for people in the Mill Creek area after a sewage spill.
More than 100 gallons of sewage spilled into Mill Creek over the weekend. They issued the warning Tuesday to more than 3,000 people that live near the Mill Creek.
The warning reads: "This is an alert to homeowners and businesses adjacent to Mill Creek from Old Hickory Boulevard to Harding Place. Metro Water Services had a sewer spill on one of its construction projects at the vicinity of Old Hickory Boulevard and Mill Creek. Please be advised to avoid any human or pet contact with Mill Creek until further notice. Metro Water Services is working with all pertinent regulatory agencies concerning this matter and remediation of the creek as soon as possible.
Officials assured that this does not affect any drinking water.
