Default Catfishing on the river

I have been to 5 different tournaments fishing Upper Ferry and Rome. And in those 5 times I have yet to catch single catfish, today no different. I think I'm the only person that has yet to catch a damn fish. Today this one kid caught a few cats and 3 large strippers 20-25 lbs all in 4-8 feet of water, other guys caught their cats in less water.

I'm at a loss... I would have thought they would have gone deeper and 3 strippers in the same shallows.. smh

My daughter and I fished out of Barton's creek today. We went out to the the river and the temps were 76-79 degrees. Tons of bait. I can see how they were being caught shallower.
