I'll be humble and share a skunk story in hopes I get to post some awesome pix next time.
I fished mid-lake on Cordell Hull the weekend before last on Friday and again on Sunday in search of huge pre-spawn striper and was skunked both weekends. Water temp was 57-59 degrees. Water was fairly clear on Friday but stained more on Sunday because of rain on Friday night and Saturday. Fished hard both days and had only 1 strike on a planer board. A large striper rolled up and showed itself chasing a 7-8 inch gizzard shad and played with the shad but never took it. It was fun to watch the shad freak out and jump trying to avoid death. I reeled in the shad once the striper left to find it bloody and a bit chewed on. That was the only sign of life for both days.
Planning to go back this weekend but it's almost time to start fishing below the dam so I'm torn. I'll try to report back even if it's to share more skunk stories.
I hope they slow the generation down below the dam soon.
Here is a pic of my catch for the weekend, a shot from the prior weekend, and an action shot of the back of the boat.
