Default Low 7 transducer

Got a friend trying to mount that big a$$ transducer on the back right of his '88 ebbtide bass boat. It's mounted with the mount to where u have to flip it up and down B4 and after u get off the lake. How should we really mount that thing? I've never had such a big transducer to mess with and he's asked me to help. Guys can u help me/us out?

Why would you want to move it before going to the lake? They are designed to stay aligned with the bottom of the boat unless something hits it and then it flips it to prevent breaking it. Anyway that is how all of the dozens I have installed works including my new Bird 998. ... Now I am old and maybe a new a better mouse trap has come out. <'TK><

I'm with TK . . . not seeing the problem. I have the big Raytheon 'ducer on the transom of my whaler. Made sure it wasn't hitting the bunk when installing; otherwise, follow manufacturer's recommendations and enjoy.

Wink

It needs to be higher, if the bottom is even with the boat a log won't hit it and neither will the trailer runner.

I don't see the issue, is it hitting something? It shouldn't get close to trailer.

Thanks guys! This was the first time we were installing such a big transducer and just wanted to double check if it was right. I can sleep easy tonight!
