Default Quality vs. Quantity kinda day!

I got in the boat this morning with Tnbronzeback!! Had a great time and good laughs. Beautiful day for some "winter" fishing.

Got on the water about 8am, the morning sucked!!! We contemplated dynamite!! Then Merv shows up and all hell breaks loose!! His clients are whacking the hybrids and white bass. We start following him, not just a few yards after following I hook up!! Get it up to the boat and it's a gar! 😕 We follow him a little further and pick up some nice hybrids. Then I get whacked with my personal best striper!! What a tank compared to anything I've ever caught!!!

All in all we had 8 fish total. Sure, other people caught a lot more fish, but I guarantee they didn't catch their personal best striper!! What a tank!! A big thanks goes to Tnbronzeback for the invite, and agelessone for the info!! If he says something is on, you better get out on the lake ASAP!!!

Well ANYBODY can catch alot of fish, but my boat just finds the hogs! lol. Damn my hat looks retarded! no wonder cabelas is going under making hats like that! Too tall or something! lol. And yes, i had my arm extended fully for the picture. It was still a nice hybrid though.
It was a fun day! i was just about mentally defeated after literally following Merv not more than 50 yards behind him and his boat is wearing em out.
Our problem was depth control on our rigs. Ive casted em before, but never trolled so i had no clue as to what size jigs vs. how far back to be at X depth. But once we figured that out, we started getting bit. Seen Jaybird out there and he put some fish in the boat too.
Creel clerk gotna good laugh on our behalf. Everybody he checked prior to us checked fish so he couldnt believe two fine gentlemen such as Skillet and I had landed nothing....that was good for the ego! lol
Glad ya got your PB out there! Next time we will see if we can top it.....or at the very least, not fish for 4 hours with no hookups! lol.

Anybody here know a guy that runs a Skeeter that launched from long hunter today...red and white if i remember right. He had some launching issues and just curious if everything worked out for him.

Nice fish and congrats! Sounds like you gave Merv the credit for catching those fish even though he was on a different boat. LOL . Are you able to use the boat docks at Longhunter to tie up your boat? Or is the water to low?

Just think, a day like you had today makes up for the skunk days that inevitably happen,There's an app I use that really helps take the guess work out of depth control is called "Trolling Depth Estimator" here's the link

Was good seeing you out there. Only thing I could figure in your boat was that Skillet must have been the skunk. Got a good laugh when you guys were talking to the guy from TWRA
