Default Spinning reel choice

Thinking of upgrading my old shimano but am stuck on two choices. I'm looking at the Shimano Nasci or the Pflueger Supreme. I haven't heard much on the Nasci but it seems great. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

I have a Nasci. It just may be the smoothest reel I have ever held. I have Sahara also and it is close to that smoothness. Both seem to have the same spool. I mention this because I do not think they cast as far as the Sedona. Not enough casting difference to really matter. Any new reels I buy will likely be the Nasci.

The Pflueger Trion (previous to the new version) is the only Pflueger I ever liked. Just my opinion.

You're subject to get varying opinions on this question. I have owned many spinning reels. Now I buy out of Japan......of course that is another story. The Nasci is sold in Japan. I would buy the Nasci and never look back.

The JDM is supposedly a totally different model.

For domestics, I like Diawa. Of your choices, I would go Pfluegar. Been burned by too many binding shimbindos in the past.

JDM model has shallow spool...only difference. Comes off same line as US model out of Malaysia.

I actually think I will be going with the Pflueger Supreme seeing as how it is the lightest and it's going on my ultralight setup. My symetre fl is starting to bind on me too.

I did just the opposite. Got tired of line twists and not so smooth feel when cranking.

I have two Mitchels and 2 Lews, growing up in the Keys we did a lot of fishing for money fish, my dad was a big fan of Mitchel 300s, we used them with 12 pound test and landed everything from Yellowtail snapper, Grouper, Dolphin and other fish, once caught a 35 pound barracuda on a mitchel 300 medium rod and 12 pound test so I am particular to Mitchel but as other things the quality has went down since then.

Right now I have a Mitchel 300 with 8 bearings and a 5:1 gear ratio and an older 300x , I believe I can land just about any fish I come across with either reel, also have 2 Lews which have 10 bearings and 6.2:1 ratios.

That being said some schlep with shitty tackle and a better sense of fishing could outfish me lol

Not always the rod and reel , but the angler holding it!

I ended up going with a Pflueger president limited edition. It feels the exact same, weighs 0.1 more ounces than the supreme, looks a lot cooler, and it was 20$ cheaper.

Now, break it in with some good fishing.

Like Mike said. The angler holding the reel is what catches fish.
