Default Love to feel the thump!

Been fishing my crappie spot for two weeks now. Been catching a lot of short crappie and some good ones. Been wearing out the KY and largemouth bass on the ultralight....some days catching 75 bass. But today my crappie spot produced 3 limits of crappie in 4 hours of fishing today....not the first bass was to be seen....which is OK with me. The limit is 15 fish......so had a total of 45 crappie all 10 inches or over. Did not keep any fish today as I am having some minor surgery tomorrow and just wanted to come home and rest up....but next week I will be bringing fish home. I fished a Bison colored Trout Magnet using the Tict Ice Cube Rockin' Drift 6' 9" TOR UL rod with a Daiwa Certate 2000 CH reel spooled with SOS 2# test line. My jig head was a 1/16 ounce with a number 8 hook. I use that jig head when the current at my spot gets heavy.....and it was today. My preferred method is to use the Trout Magnet 1/64 ounce jig head with a single size "B" split shot about 18 inches up the line. It was a great day. The crappie are getting bigger and in two weeks I fully expect to be catching nothing smaller than 12 inches. I love feeling the crappie "thump". I am an avid UL angler and while I fish for other specie most of the time there is nothing quite like catching crappie on an UL rod. The 13 inch fish gave a great fight....pulling drag.....all the crappie put up a good tussle. If the doc tells me I can fish on Friday I will be back out there.....if not look for more reports next week. Life is good! Sore Lip"Em All!

Regards

Thanks...they were 12-14 feet deep holding tight to a ledge in 23 feet of water.
