Yeah, that was sad news to me. BPS is just not as good as Cabela's in my opinion. By the way , if anyone is interested, Cabela's has a Garmin echo map 53dv on sale for $279 (reg. $499) -also look for the coupon code that will give you $10 off and free shipping. I nabbed one because I had $65 worth of points in my account, so I got it for right at $200. Looks like a pretty good unit for the money. I know it will beat the heck out of my old cheapo humminbird 100. Anyone else have experience with this Garmin? Most all the reviews I read were positive. Thanks

I do believe Cabela's always had better product brands than BPS additionally. I really hate to see what it will become and the job losses that will follow. Capital One is scheduled to take over the credit card division so I can only believe the points will not be credited so I'm going on a shopping spree tonight as well.

You mean Johnny Morris. Cabelas lure prices were way too high. Their reel selection was small but comparable in price. The only thing I ever bought from there was a boat cover. Hope they will still honor that 5 year warranty!

I believe you're the first person I've ever heard of that prefers bass pro.

So who will now be Johnnys biggest competitor?
Gander cant come close on price alone, academy is awesome, but they dont have the selection.
Whats done is done, good for him on his business move, i just hope he keeps his decisions with the sportsman at the forefront of his mind.....not his next million in the bank.
Shame on cabelas for letting themselves get into a position where they pretty much would have to sell eventually.

Should be some great sales coming up on Cabelas branded equipment. If you have some points saved up I would sit on them and watch for it.

Took me two days to get an answer on the order line...You're so correct Cabelas branded items are going like hotcakes. Heavy discounts are in play at this moment.
