Default JPP shad???

I spent 7 hours out there today and somehow did not see one shad. There were a few balls on my finder in the channel but visually, there were zero which you would think is impossible for this time of year -- any time of year, really. A few non-committed top water bites and two 1 pounders on a crank. Still a few weeks from things picking up...I hope.

They were everywhere on Normandy this afternoon. I was trolling and one guy was sitting on them off a point throwing top water. Main lake points and the creeks had all the action.

I was out yesterday mid-lake and saw shad flipping on the surface. I was targeting the shad to hopefully find the bass, but apparently they were content eating the real thing. Fshing did pick up right before sunset though.
