Default Trout Magnet and Ocean Fishing

Has anyone ever caught anything in the ocean on trout magnets? Pier, bay, etc. Or heard any rumors that they're lousy or great in salt water?

Thanks

Thanks. That sounds like Atlantic Ocean stuff but glad to know they work for something, so I'll give them a shot in southern Calif.
