Slow trolling crappie Tim's Ford

Considering doing some slow trolling for crappie at Tim's Ford tomorrow. Familiar with the lake, but never have trolled for crappie there. Can anyone offer any advice? Thanks.

I think you would be better off to go to Woods. It is really hard to catch crappie by trolling at Tims.

I agree with aero, hard to catch crappies there trolling, you can also try trolling at Normandy good crappie there and far easier to pattern, you can try the rip rap at the dam, and follow the countour across the lake all the way to the cedar point campground and back, caught many crappies and bonus bass trolling 200 series bandits and crappie magnets, good luck!

What is a good depth contour to stay on why doing the rip rap? I am thinking from 15 to 20 or are they typically staged on deeper water suspended?

Navy, I have not fished much this year so my opinion is based on experience from previous years, 12 to 20 ft is a good starting point around the dam and shallower on the rip rap by the Barton spring bridge on both sides, if you troll by the two campgrounds I would troll at about 13 ft at 1.6 mph staying in about 18 fow, and adjust from there, hope this helps
