Default Cumberland River Stripers

Haven't posted in a while so I hate to post about being skunked but that's what fishing can be. I just hope it doesn't become a habit! I fished the higher end of Old Hickory last Sunday afternoon. Generation was heavy (2+) and boat control was difficult. I fished hard from about 2pm until 9pm with nothing to show for it. I was using Gizzard and Threadfin shad caught near Lebanon earlier in the morning. Water temp was 69 degrees closer to the Dam. The company was great as my best friend from Missouri was here but the fishing left a lot to be desired.

I was told that a guide who shall remain nameless caught 11 20+ lbers Sunday morning so I was clearly not in the right spots or using the correct technique.

Late August through Mid-October was on fire last year and I'm eager to find em. Last summer and fall I had a lot more confidence. This year, I've been cat fishing more and am only catching stripers hit and miss. Nothing can replace time on the water to stay on top of these things.

On a side note - I was on Priest Monday morning and lost the bottom cylinder of my outboard. (Thank you Merv for dropping everything and coming to two me to the ramp! I owe you!)

Luckily, I still had the parts from my old power-head so I just removed the bad piston, honed it out, and slapped one of the two good pistons and rings from the old power-head into it. Started it in the drive-way this evening and I think it's going to work. For now at least. The oil injection system will not be used anymore. Pre-mix only for me moving forward!

I'm waiting on Adrian to share GPS coordinates! Happy catching all.

I think its awesome that you had the spare parts, AND best of all, the ability to get that thing fixed as quick as you did.
And like you, I'm waiting on Adrian to PM me the coordinates of his latest catch.
I KNOW he's going to, probably just forgot to and he'll get right on it when he sees this post.
