Default Old Hickory Dam

I know I keep asking for suggestions but I've been thrown a curve ball today. The dam is generating with 2 instead of 1 like I'm used to. I was going to go on the generators side so I could walk down a little further but now I'm wondering if I should go on the lock side. Any thoughts or experiences that would help guys?

You can still do well with 2 going on the generator side. Let us know how it goes! Good luck

Do you think I should stick with the generator side?

Personally I like the lock side in that situation.

If you are gonna fish the lock side, try to spot the current seam coming down along the wing wall and launch your bait as close to it as you can. Depending on what you are using, you might get cats, sauger, walleye, drum and the bonus sturgeon.

On the Hendersonville/Generator side at the end of the parking lot down river just a bit there is a small creek channel that forms an eddy that often produces number of fish.

I always preferred the generator side, never had much luck on the lock side

Honestly, up until this past fall and winter I only fished the lock side. I've caught nice catfish from there. I also like to walk down the bank down at the boat ramp and bass fish. I have caught some really nice bass at the ramp and on down. The bank. If the water is up in the bushes...it's even better.

Well I'm making the mistake of going again tonight since they're only supposed to be generating with 1 generator. I'm rigged up for striper tonight at dusk and then catfish through out the night as well. I'm hoping to catch some skipped to use and freeze as well as taking the cast net to catch some hickory shad. Wish me luck!
