Had a great day at Dale Hollow. I don't have an accurate count but it is over 50 fish in 4 hours fishing. The 19.5 and 16 inch Smallie were caught on a Midnight Blue ThunderHawk Micro Dancer on a Major Craft Truzer 6' 5" H Ajing UL model rod spooled with 4# test NanoFil line with a 4# test Phantom fluro leader. All other fish were caught on a Yamaga Blanks Blue Current TZ Jig Head Special 6' 10" UL rod spooled with SOS 2# test line......using either the Midnight Blue ThunderHawk or a Bison colored Trout Magnet on a 1/16 ounce jig head with a #8 hook. It was a fantastic day! The girth on Dale Hollow Gills is quite impressive. All these fish gave me all the fight I wanted. My drag was screaming all day. Water temps were high 60's with some places hitting 71 degrees. The fish are on the flats....the bluffs....almost everywhere. They are not on bed yet and it is just going to get better. While the Gills and shellcracker are nice it is not Dale Hollow's best. My spring is going great!...Life is good!
Wished I knew as I have been here for the past few days catching SM and Cat. I'm currently at Horse Creek. Drop me a PM if you come tomorrow and we'll meet up.

Reason: Fat fingers and using a phone to post
I have fished for them under the lights in summer but never in the daytime.
Regards
I think we are going to do a couple lights under our kayaks and catch some hopefully.
Went a few years ago in winter trying to catch them out of Horse Creek but no luck. The water was still below 50 then so it may have been a tad cold for their activity level.
