Drakes Creek Evening Crappie & Monster Carp
Went up to drakes about 4 today longlining in hopes of some nice chunker yellows and didnt find any yellows of size but got into a crappie flurry and a bonus monster common carp my buddy caught on 6lb test and a ultra light ugly stick, he would gain some ground on it and get it near the boat and it would see the boat and turn and dart the other way at 20mph peeling 20 yards of line in seconds, we had to chase the thing with the trolling motor till it tired still didn't know what it was till it came up and I netted it measured at 30", as for the crappie we were trolling 1/16 oz jigs and 2" tripple ripple grubs and put 14 nice keepers in the boat and 8-10 throw backs in under an hour biggest was 14 1/4", fishing is for sure looking up on old hickory water temp in the creek ranged from 64-67, as we were launching at shutes branch a guy fishing from the courtesy dock just landed a 4lb largemouth
