Default Screenshots from Drake's Creek today. Help?

http://imgur.com/a/67z4K

First off, my GPS/Map is all jacked up. Can anyone suggest anything to help with that. I don't want to get hurt thinking I am in deep water when I'm really in two feet!

Check out the mayhem on the side scan screenshots. Anyone have any theories as to what's going on there?

Thanks,
Jason

Shad, shad everywhere. I was on Normandy this afternoon and it looked just like that. The birds were having a field day, no fish for me though.

Make sure you don't have Meters instead of feet as your depth.

I had the same issue on my lowrance unit.

I contacted lowrance support, and they instructed me to do a factory reset.

IF YOU DO A FACTORY RESET BACK UP ALL WAY POINTS! I lost all of mine.

I reset my unit, and done the latest update, and everything started working right again.

I don't see anything wrong with your si shots. I see shad and I also see fish feeding on those shad.

Regards

Thanks for the tips! Luckily (I suppose ) I don't have any waypoints yet. I'll do the factory reset and see if that helps me.

I think the SI is fine. The problem was my cursor on my map was showing me in 12-ish feet of water when my sonar was showing me in about 4 feet. The sonar was right, so something is up with my positioning on the GPS unit.

The GPS also has a degree of error depending on how good of a signal it is getting. If your in a valley it can be off by quite a bit. The more open and clear it is the better the accuracy. Also, for depth, there is quite a difference in pool fluctuation between winter and summer pools. The depth on the map is probably average pool

It appears from I can tell the washed out areas to the right and left are indicators of a creek channel running though.

Old Hickory rarely fluctuates more than 18 inches unlike Percy Priest or Tims Ford which are pulled down 7 ft or more in winter.

Default agree w/ Merc

Those contour/depth lines on the chart aren't reliable in my experience. They give you an idea of the rise/fall/countour but depth accuracy is a whole different story. Especially on JPP. Rely on your sonar for depth accuracy. Using the chart will get you in the repair shop asking for a new skeg or lower unit
