Default Gsp 12/22/15

Main river temps we're steady at 54.2 degrees, temps at the barrier was 58.4 all day so they weren't generating very much.

No surface activity above the barrier and just scattered skipjack below.

The biggest skipjack I boated was 10 inches, had one on a downline all day with no hits. He swam away after being on the hook for 6 hours.

I fished mainly nightcrawler pieces on a #10 long shank thin wire hook with a #7 split shot three feet under a bobber. Let it drift with the current, caught one 10 inch tilapia, 6 big shell crackers ( biggest was 13 1/2 ounces on my new scale!), one 12 inch Kentucky bass, one small catfish, one 12 inch striper, and a gazillion small bluegills.

I threw some bucktails and A-rigs for awhile but never got a bump so I would return to the small fish.

There were four guys fishing the lay downs and heard them tell another boater they had caught 10 crappie and they had been there since daylight and left about 3.

If we don't get some cold temps the GSP just might be a bust this year.

All the pollutants TVA is discharging through that steam plant scared the fish away! They have a new winter hangout and we just have to find where it is.
