Ohl 11-1-15

Went yesterday out of shutes about three yesterday and headed down river looking for any surface activity in the coves hoping for some crappie and found one with bait busting everywhere pulled up and made about 3 casts into the bait busting about mid way back in the cove and boom a 22" striper slams my jig right on the surface and the battle begins on my 5' 1/2' micro lite rod and 6lb segar floro, about 4 min after hooking this thing dragging my 18' boat around like a bobber I put it in the net arm sore from all the drag peeling, fished hard for another hour with no luck other than a monster skippie, there were tons of small buck bass schooling the bait. The striper wasn't that big compared to some of yall on here catching these 40-50" monsters but its all I could do to land this thing on my panfish rod.

Went to cheatham a few days ago in the rain and caught a mix bag as usual with a bunch of 1-3lb bass caught. Caught all three in the black bass family and a walleye. Focused on the starts and ends of the bluffs. Ended up losing a smallmouth right by the boat that looked to be 5lb+

Fall is here, fishing is good, get out there!!

Thanks for the clarification guys ive always assumed that if it has the white tipped fins and smoky eyes it was a marble eye

What were you using on Cheatham? I caught a mixed bag out there the other day fishing pockets and eddies off of the main river, a few fish in the creeks. I feel like you have to target the chunk rock and rip rap.

Im a die hard grub fisherman, one of the most versatile lures of all time ive caught fish on it from Michigan all the way down to the salt in flordia and everywhere in between, and I hardly ever just catch only one species.
As for chetham I was focusing on the points at creek mouths espically where there was riprap rock present and the tappering start and ends of bluffs.

Easy way to tell is by all the camo blotches on the sauger.
Things look kinda freaky when they have a strong contrast. Then again, they all end up having a golden brown color when ya catch em from Lake Peanut Oil. Lmao
