How Much Time

When you spot bait fish and/or bass on your fish finder or fish hitting bait fish how long or how many cast do you spend not catching anything before you move on? Just trying to get better and sometimes I think I spend too much time on a spot.

I'm here. Relax. If I see fish hitting bait on top, I'll stay long enough to throw several baits to include topwater, swimbait, shallow crank bait, deeper crank bait, and small lipless crankbait. If you can't get bit with those while the activity is happening, move on. Recognize that these fish are keyed on a specific bait type/size and you should have multiple options tied on and ready. The schools of fish are nomadic at this time of year and will pop up virtually anywhere based on the baitfish movement. Trolling motor on high, be ready to move fast.
For suspended bait balls and fish, use a fish head spinner like a Sworming Hornet head with a swimbait paddle tail body. You have to run the bait through the baitfish and under the baitfish.

20 mins maybe... just depends on what type of fish ur going after.. I don't like to run and gun but if I'm not getting any action...

I'm on board with 20-30 Minutes. If you can't get them fired up just move and and maybe come back later. It's very frustrating when you find fish and can't get them to bite.

Dont overlook small shiny spoons as a bait! little cleos and the like....1-1/2", 2" and 2-1/2" variety....always served me well in times like that.
