Got out early at 7 Points and could only catch 4 large gizzards for bait. We pulled a combo of buck tail jigs and shad with planers and free lines around 7 points till 11:00 . Then moved over to the open water by Hole in the Wall Island and around 11:30 the entire area erupted in a feeding frenzy. We caught about a dozen in 30 minutes, then the sun came out and it stopped. Never got a hit on our jigs or shad but they couldn't leave the 1/4 ounce CC spoon alone. We cast out and reel back fast. It matches the shad they are chasing.

Nice, I'm hoping to get into similar type action in a couple of days. Fall is the best time of year for crazy feeding outbursts with schools of hybrids IMHO.

Sounds like a fun trip! The area from the swimbeach to where you were fishing off of Hole has been LOADED with bait recently. My last two trips out have been pretty slow but I have started seeing a lot more surface activity. Water temps were down to 70 Sunday and back up to 75 yesterday on the lower end.

Went again today and could only catch yellow bellies. Temp back up like you said. Didn't see much bait.

I was out as well. The bait was all around the corner between Hamilton Creek ramp and the swim beach. Little bit of surface activity but I couldn't get anything to commit. Had one swipe at a rattle trap but that was it for me. Hopefully things are better in the morning.
