Stripers on Tims Ford

Here is a short video of a Striper that was caught last Saturday around noon on Tims Ford using Tadpoles (Offshore Tackle) and 1/2 oz. jigs.

This was the eleventh fish of the morning. The jig was running 21 feet deep at 2.5 MPH.

Great outing and fish Aero!, you said these fish are moving up lake, where could I begin my search?, I will have the day the day off Friday and I would like to give them a try, I fished Tuesday after labor day all morning around the islands near the dam, did not see any surface activity and marked very few fish, and I did not even get a bite, you seem to have it dialed down pretty good, congrats!!

Tie your main line to the snap on the Tadpole. The tadpole shown is a size 1. The lure in the photo is 1/2 oz. jig head with 4" Sassy Shad for perspective. You can see that the front of the Tadpole (left end) has a slide. One position causes it to dive. When a fish hits it and pulls on the rear, the front snap slides forward and the Tadpole just acts line an inline sinker as you retrieve the fish. I use a 20 or 30 pound Flourocarbon leader the length of the rod. The main line is 40 pound PowerPro Slick 8. The reason this size line is used, is because the diameter is the same as 10 pound mono and that corresponds to the Precision Trolling App.



I typically run six or eight rods at 2.5 MPH with the outside lines being on planers or mast lines. When you go through a school, it can get real busy in the boat!

Adrian get a GoPro and start creating. The video editing is done with iMovie on the iPad. Watching a video of a previous trip is the next best thing tp being there. Also, you can get your still photos from the video. Any frame can become a still photo.

Those planer boards are Riviera's with three boards (they work better than the ones with two boards for this setup). The Mast used to pull them is from Bert's Custom Tackle. I would highly recommend both products. In some of the videos, I use OR12 boards that clip on your line. They are from Offshore Tackle. That is also who makes the Tadpoles and Snap Weights. I have found all of their products to be outstanding!
