Tie your main line to the snap on the Tadpole. The tadpole shown is a size 1. The lure in the photo is 1/2 oz. jig head with 4" Sassy Shad for perspective. You can see that the front of the Tadpole (left end) has a slide. One position causes it to dive. When a fish hits it and pulls on the rear, the front snap slides forward and the Tadpole just acts line an inline sinker as you retrieve the fish. I use a 20 or 30 pound Flourocarbon leader the length of the rod. The main line is 40 pound PowerPro Slick 8. The reason this size line is used, is because the diameter is the same as 10 pound mono and that corresponds to the Precision Trolling App.
I typically run six or eight rods at 2.5 MPH with the outside lines being on planers or mast lines. When you go through a school, it can get real busy in the boat!
