Default Normandy 9-3

I decided to explore new waters yesterday at normandy, with the intent of learning the walleyes there.
Boat hit the water at 6:00am, i got back to the ramp at 9:30pm....fish landed = ZERO.
That lake is a pretty easy lake to pick the likely spots to start with all the points but the huge curveball is the depth with the bubbler system. I didnt find any thermocline so i guess in all reality those fish could have been in 50-60 foot. Deepest i went was 35. i trolled crawler harnesses in a rainbow of colors at various speeds at various depths across various structure. Then cranks, then spoons, then i repeated the same thing on a vertical approach with blades, spoons, jigs even live minnows on bare hooks. At dark i cast spoons and minnow baits around flats on the breaks. I fished in bait balls then under bait balls.
Now, with bluebird skies, no wind and 95 degree temps i didnt have the most walleye friendly day conditions wise....but nothing...not a bass, cat, crappie....lol.
Great stained water color though.
The only thing i didnt try was working the banks in the flooded timber in the 10-15' range. I figured the 88' surface temp wouldnt be walleye friendly.
Still a fun day on the water, found alot of good places to try when the temps drop.
I will be visiting normandy again for sure.

I've fished a couple times this year at Normandy with the Middle TN Crappie Club, all three of my trips were night fishing. First time i fished under the bridge with lights out. Along with my minnows I jigged a small spoon, I caught crappie but also picked up 4 walleye in the 18" range all on the spoon. The wife and I have been fishing Woods, Normandy and Tims this summer, I live a 1/2 mile from the Cairo ramp but just got fed up with the boat and jet ski traffic. Tims gets a bulk of the traffic from that area but even at that you can get in a cove and not see a boat all day. Keep putting the time in and you will find them, Most of the guys in MTCC fish for them during the winter months.

Thanks Ray, and thats what i figured on both the night and winter fishing. Yesterday turned into a scouting mission for future trips.
I didnt have a light with me or i would have fished the bridge, every boat on that lake poked around that bridge for a few minutes.
I could have mopped up on bass, the surface activity was insane almost all day and into the night.
That lake is very Canadian Shield-ish.....deep and steep, but canadian lakes dont get to 90 degrees! lol.
