Default Good weekend

Was a beautiful fishing weekend for me! went out to my spot below ceatham lock and really got into the stripes and cats. Lots of bait, good variation of size between 5" and 8" skipjack catching em on sabiki rigs right up near the lock. Ive been experimenting with a trail hook on the tail of the longer skipjacks and seems to result in more hookups. so far ive tried running my leader through the eye of the first hook and attaching a stop weight as well as simply tying a small leader from the first hook to the second. Aboout equal luck drifting vs anchoring, it is a bit easier to anchor and wait though. I typicall use a 3 way swivel with about 2onches of lead, sometimes up to 4 ounces depending on the current. Im going to try using a little bigger bait (9 or 10inch skips or so) and see if i can get one of them 40lbers :P
Saturday was a blast with a good 10lb and 15lb striper, 20lb flat head and a nice channel (yum). needless to say we ate very well last night

Thanks dakota, and yeah there was only 1 or 2 other boats out there both saturday and sunday. It seems like the discharges are pretty regular at this point: they run 1 or 2 generators during the day, so up until abot 3pm its 13k CFS, then from 3 to 6pm it goes to about 20K CFS and then back down to 13k CFS from 6 to 10pm. after 10 pm they seem to pretty much shut it down and with that the fishing slows way down. We started catching fish as soon as we got on the water around 4pm each day
