Looking for Pay Dove Hunt

I know Sloan's used to do a 20 dollar per hunter Dove hunt but they stopped. I figured I'd ask early and see if anyone knows of a pay hunt that is a reasonable price. I've seen plenty of 100+ dollar hunts and I'm not interested. Or if any of you have a family member that owns farm land full of Doves I'd gladly pay a small fee and promise you won't even see as much as one shotgun shell left over from my hunting. Thanks!

If I have to do public land for opening day I know exactly where Im going and where Im sitting but Id have to get there early in the morning to get a spot and nap until noon when the shooting is allowed to start. Youre welcome to join. Ill keep the field and particular spot of the field off the forum. These doves are all mine. Yum yum.

I hunted this field last year and that particular spot was full but every year has tons of doves. People show up at sunrise to get a spot there.

There is usually one in the Portland area I'm not sure where I seen the sign last year going to work if I see it I will let ya know

That was the Beasley place, not Sloan. It's just as well, they had 30 decent spots and let in 200 people.

Yea that's about how every TWRA field is. At most places guys were showing up at 7am to get to the good spots. I'm considering doing just that this year, take a nap until noon when we can legally shoot and hopefully keep my gun barrel hot but not because of the air temperature.

I am not a hunter anymore and haven't been in years. What's protocol on a setting like that? Who shoots what and who hit what?

I miss the days of jumping rabbits, quail and hiding behind cedars on a bucket to shoot dove in my dads/grandfathers field.

It can get chaotic. My dad and I both had people try to claim birds from us that we were positive we shot. He let a kid have one just because it was a kid. I simply got to the bird first and told the guy I'm positive it was mine.

Even though there are a lot more birds opening day than any other day, I enjoy it more the few weeks after while there are still birds around. Cooler weather and a dozen hunters instead of 200.

The worst is when some idiot decides to shoot at a low bird. That happened a couple times last year on opening day. The crowd didn't appreciate it and were vocal about it, as they should have been.

I have found several mowed corn fields on WMAs from last year during Winter time squirrel and rabbit hunting. I have a very good feeling they could be great dove spots during the 2nd phase (early Fall). All depends on when they get chopped down but I'll be monitoring them for sure.
