Default Caney report 5/14 and 5/16

Took a buddy from work who has never caught TN trout before. Floated dam to happy on thursday (cloudy) after getting off work early. Made it out there about 3:00 PM with 1 generator going. Caught several browns (biggest about 15 inches with a yellow jerk bait). Super duper spoon also worked well. Just missed getting a fat 14+ inch rainbow in the boat with the super duper.

Got a late start on saturday. Floated Dam to Bettys. Brown trout had just been stocked and they were biting pretty much anything they fit in their mouths. caught about 15 after the stairs near the dam, mostly on super dupers. Not much luck after the generator came on at 3. Water was chock full of floating moss that snagged every cast. We didn't do much fishing after happy hollow and paddled for the car.

Whats been working for y'all at the river lately?

Great report and pic! I have been throwing the trout magnet under the float, and threw the crank for a few minutes last time out and had a giant brown chase it up to the side of the boat! I will be out there a lot this summer!

I had real good luck up there this weekend. Stayed at the campground and used the trout magnet on low water and also used the Trout Magnet Crank right after they turned the generators off. My best fish came Saturday evening right after they turned the generators off. Had several real nice ones.

Really like the TM cranks. Just gave the worm jigs a shot last weekend and haven't had a lot of success yet. Just a few smaller fish. how do you set them up to make them castable? I couldn't get much distance out of it with 4lb line on a microlite set up

If your talking about using Trout Magnets your going to have to step down to 2# test to cast them. Plus you will catch a lot more fish using 2# test.
