Smile Todays Garden Pick .. <'TK><

Well, I went down the Catfish Row today ... Right off the bat I put this 4 pounder on the dock ... (See Pic) After dressing it I wish I hadn't kept Her, She was full of Roe ... I won't keep another until mid Summer ...

So you will know ... This pond is approximately 1/2 acre and no more than 4 to 5 feet deep at the deepest point ... and about 70 years old ... My place was part of a dairy farm in the past decades ... I bought it 30 years ago ... So I have developed it for my old age retirement ... I have invested in aerators, stocking, Feed, and a lot of man-hours in work for maybe a 30 min set down relax time at the end of the day ... From what I have invested for every fish I have kept, it is about $100 plus a pound ... So the cat after dressed and filleted was $400 and I am going to eat $200 of it ..

My Grand Daughters are invited three times a year to partake of the pond , (Memorial Day, The 4th of July and Labor day ... ) Catch and release... and of coarse the old Poppy Grand Dad Retired guide has to bait the hook, remove the catch and release back to the pond ... But I wouldn't miss a minute of it ... But I am glad, after about 30 min's they get bored and want to go get in the pool .. The Garden!! My reward at the end of the day .... <'TK><
