Smallmouth spawning video

Hi all,

I was out stream surveying today and came across a pair of nice sized smallmouth bass spawning. I spent a little time getting underwater video of them as they were really locked on to their bed and actively spawning. It is pretty cool to see the differences in color between the male and female.

I also got tons of great video of shiners, chubs, darters and crayfish but the smallmouth were were the best.

PS - I saw a bunch of other bass spawning including one really big female with a small male. Would have been a fun day to be fishing, but work was fun as well.

That's awesome. Love how the male was chasing other fish off. What camera were you using?

I use a bunch of cameras for surveys, but this was shot on a sony action cam.

And that male sure chasing everything away and also beating up the female pretty good if she tried to swim away. Cool to watch.
