Default Crappie spawning @ JPP

Caught over 60 short crappie at JPPriest this am around TWRA deep water attractors. Eighteen feet deep. Only 11 keepers. All had eggs. Some were almost half full, some were really full. Fished vertical. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1430174648.678929.jpg

Good day of catching even though most were short. I caught 3 today, 12", 13" and a 10.5 all in 4-8' of water. I also had a bunch of bites but they were very timid, almost like they were just bumping the road runner. I did not know the water was as high as it is plus it's still hovering around 68.

Can I ask what bait you were using? I got burnt two weekends ago. Only caught 6 fish.

Crappie spawn is now. When carp are "wallowing" the crappie are spawning. My experience.
I used 1/16 jig elec chicken color CM. fished vertical.

Yes, better pack it up for the year and get to landscaping or golfing. No need fishing the remainder of the year.

Landscaping is done and I played 4 rounds of golf last Friday through Sunday. Time to get back to fishing. I think the cold front screwed them um Monday afternoon when I went. The sticks were floating straight up and down....everyone knows you don't catch fish then.
