Default Easter family fun

Went up to the lake with my family for some quality time. Spent most of the time playing but did manage to get some fishing in. My son caught an 18 inch spot and with the 15 inch crappie he caught last year, that gives him two towards his master angler. I also caught and was able to release a loon on an ultra light. What a beautiful bird and an amazing fight. It had a tag and metal band on both legs. What a great weekend...

You're spot on tsuggs. It's really sad to me how cliquish the forum has become that a report about some kids having fun catching some fish is only noticed by one member..

Is it any sadder than using the site to promote one's personal business and never congratulating a fellow member on a catch that you played no part in?

I've got TK's permission and blessing to post whatever content on this forum as its official Dale Hollow Guide. I guess it's my fault that I'm on the water all the time and not spending all my time on my computer looking for short cuts.

And for the record, I've helped plenty of people on this site who have bothered to reach out toe via message, email or phone call...

It is great that you make yourself known so that those who can't devote all their time to fishing have an opportunity to share in the wonderful sport of fishing. I am sure that many would prefer to have your job than theirs. Although they may not like fishing as much if it was a job.

I am sure others work as many hours as you and most have to report to work at least 5 days per week. I read this forum for pleasure and certainly not for short cuts.

All I am saying is that we should not criticize others when we are also guilty.

I did not rain on his parade. Perhaps you have trouble comprehending what instigated my comments.

Just so you understand. I like pictures of the kids posted on here. That is why I do not criticize where they are posted.

Does that mean that you already know where to get your fish?

Travis, it had a little color when we arrived Friday lunchtime and it poured all afternoon and night. We literally watched that coffee with cream come down the creek into the main lake. It created a really cool mub line. The color was only a few feet deep. When boats went by, it cleared in their prop wash. It makes for good fishing.
