Thumbs up West TN - Big Hill Pond State Park

Had a blast yesterday morning @Big Hill Pond (Travis McNatt Lake to some). It was cool and had lake all to myself. Started off jigging for crappie in the tree tops and the bite was on. Only problem, all were small. None over 8 inches long. The crappie were about 10' deep over 18' of water. So I changed gears and started bass fishing. Using a Texas rig, I caught 23 bass over the next 2 hours. Most were of the 3/4 - 1 lb. range. My largest 3 were just under 2 lb. They were shallow and definitely getting ready to bed. This cold snap threw em off their plan. Should be a good bite there this coming week. Took 4 home to have bite... all were full o' eggs. These were all my first yak fish also.

Good looking fish, and yak. Nice way to switch gears and catch some more fish.

That green with red flake is deadly. My go-to color if the water is somewhat clear

Fished that lake weekly when I lived in Middleton. The years I lived there most of the time it was like my own personal lake......hardly ever saw anyone.... some good shell crackers in there. Congrats on your catch.
