Default Normandy 3/26/2015

Had another great few hours at Normandy....the trout got bigger. I only fished my spot for a little over 2 hours this morning but got 30 big fat rainbows. If I could catch trout like this most of the time I wouldn't be making those trips to the Little Red River. They gave me all I wanted on light line and UL rod....they were pulling some drag. I was going to leave and get home early but decided to check out the parking lot and who comes walking up the river none other than Sambolie! Also ran into another forum member there....George....a really nice guy. Ott and I fished a little longer....and talked....mostly talked....LOL. He had a pretty good morning himself and I saw some pics on his phone...he was getting some fat fish also. I used white...Bison, and chartreuse today. The bite was much slower than yesterday but still adequate. I caught a few more fish down by the parking lot hanging out with Sambolie and George. I know I missed a lot more than I caught down there as it is hard for me to talk and fish at same time......LOL. But it was nice seeing Ott again and getting to talk with George. I hadn't left the parking lot for 20 minutes and temps had dropped almost 20 degrees. Don't know what this cold front will do to the trout but I think the fishing will still be pretty good there. I won't get to fish again until next Tuesday.....don't know if I can handle that...LOL. I don't know how many fish Ott caught but he wasn't a jinx today.........put up a pretty good showing.

Regards

And nice, chunky trout by the way. Those are perfect eating size! This cold front will probably shut things down a bit but by the end of next week things should be on fire again.

Sorry I missed you,I ended up actually finding some crappie and got off the water around 3 and hit the cold front at the fire lake boat ramp and to say I got cold going across the lake at 45 mph after the temperature drop would be an understatement. Looks like another great day for you though.

Randy, it was good to see you yesterday. After catching 92 of those fat trout I was ready to just sit and chat. Hope I did not wear your ears out.
