Default Williamsport Lake Report

Spent just a few minutes out at Shell Cracker today catching crappie under the float. A buddy I fish with from time to time was having fun with the crappie and decided to try a small minnow to see if he could get some bigger fish. Well he got a bigger fish...just not a crappie. This bass weighed 9.5 pounds on a certified scale. What makes this remarkable he caught this fish using 2# test SOS Trout Magnet line. So if you are looking for a place to fish this weekend this big one was released back into Shell Cracker with a very lively kick. The crappie are still stacked on the dam and a few nice Gills are showing up also.

Regards

That's a hell of a fish no matter what. Congrats on the catch, I'm even more impressed it was caught on 2lb line. Any size to the crappie?

Just WOW! Living proof of how good SOS line is and credit to him for the skill to land such a hog on 2lb test. Great pic too.
That's a forever memory for the both of you. Good stuff right there!

It was a beautiful fish. I've seen quite a few of those big ones come out of there but was close at hand on this one and wanted to post a pic for those who always hear about Williamsport but never see any fish from there. The guy is a great ultra light angler and I was happy he never even thought about keeping that fish....a quick weigh and back in the water. That is some good line.

Very good line. I wish I lived closer to those lakes. It's tough for me to drive a 1 1/2 fish them but when you see fish like that it makes me want to rethink My Sunday plans

I was at Williamsport today. The same gentleman in Randy's picture was taking another one off the hook. It looked to be about 6.5 to 7 lbs.

Jimmy, Merv and Juice combined couldn't catch 16 lbs of bass in a week if I was 200 miles from their fishing location. This guy caught that much with me fishing the same lake.

I may let them rub my head for luck (for $100 each).
