Default GSP 03/11*** Winding Down or Is It?

03/11/2015

Thought it would be muddy. Arrived at 8AM. Water better than two weeks ago. Two boats on the barrier. One on the right, tossing live skipjack under the tree.

Middle boat casting everything, including the sink and live bait.

I threw top water. Boils up the channel. Just out of range.

Switched to swim bait. Third cast hooked freight train.

About 15 mins later the boils inched close enough and I threw on top. Three twitches, kabloosh! Biggest striper of the year for me. Arms hurt afterwards. Now that is a party. Now 8:30.

Did not catch another rock but had two massive explosions on topwater. About 10AM and noon.

Crew by the tree caught 5, most swallowed the bait, two bled bad. Biggest around 18. Another boat took those. Middle boat skunked.

I stayed until 4PM hoping they topwater would return. It did not.
That's the way the steam tumbles.

That was a good day!
Monday there was one 5 lb'er caught all day. No blowup all day, no surface activity from 1-6 PM.

Very nice day at the plant. I'm usually the guy throwing everything at them and not catching anything I think I might try and make one more trip if possible.

Nice job Lupan.

On a scale of mud to OH Green what would you say the color was? Or how deep of visibility?

Default Water Color

It was Browny Green.... not bad but could be better.
Two weeks ago it was maybe 2 inches visibility.
Yesterday was probably 6-8.
