Default Williamsport Lake Conditons

Blue Cat Lake is stained with close to 2 feet of visibility. I didn't get a bite but one fisherman did catch a couple of decent bass. The lake level is at normal pool for this time of year....it is full. The roads in places are quite muddy.

Regards

Tbona and I went yesterday and we got skunked bad. He did get one bluegill on a TM but that's it. I threw everything I had at bass, even put some effort into gills and Crappie without getting a sniff. Everyone on the lake was skunked except a couple guys fishing live minnows for Crappie.

Water was way colder than I expected it to be, 43 deg except way in the back of Bluecat where it gets marshy. I found 47-48 way late in the afternoon but no fish back there. I had never been skunked at Williamsport and was proud of that streak since those lakes have a reputation for being tough to fish. Guess that streak is over haha.

That 43 deg temp and the 47-48 degree water was at about 5pm after having sun on it all day. It started out just a hair over 40 degrees.

That sucks. I think the weekend was just a terrible weekend to be on the water.

Not much better to be stuck in the house huffing polyurethane fumes on some refinished hardwoods! lol.
no smallies im guessing? Its that difficult transition phase right now and dont think all this rain will help aside drom some temp increases.

Hey enough sniffing those fumes and you'd be feeling a lot better than I felt after fishing hard all day and being skunked!

No nothing. Wind was so rough I did not even finish the paddle to my smallmouth point. I had white caps rolling over the front of the yak while paddling to my spot so I gave up. I found a bunch of fish on the sonar but could not get them to bite. I even tried trolling because the wind was pushing me so fast. I left Long hunter and went to East fork, current was so strong it was a waist of time. I think I would have rather huffed Poly.

From past experience Williamsport should bust open in 2 more weeks. The fish should move up to the small ledges just off the dam....and other areas. Then it will be on...shell crackers...Gills....and for those you who fish for them...large mouth...LOL. If the weather forecast holds with the temps and the rain, those lakes will be in mid to upper 50's by then.

I sure hope so. My 2014 fishing started out with a PB Smallie. 2015 fishing is starting with two consecutive skunks haha. Things need to turn around quick.

It has been EXTREMELY tough the past 3 day on the water. I had 1 keeper largemouth on Priest the past 3 days. Ready for some warmer weather!

Yessir, you showed up after that. Not much else in the way of action that day but we had a good time anyway.
