Default Latest Rod.

The TICT "Ice Cube Rockin' Drift" is here! Bottom section of 2 piece rod is a Toray 50 ton blank. The top section of the rod is all solid SP-Carbon. The guide frames are titanium with Torzite ceramic inserts. Rated for .8 - 3 pound mono. Lure rating is 1/275 - 3/16. If a fish sniffs my lure he is mine....LOL. As soon as I can get on the water giving this rod a workout. It is a 6'9" that weighs 2.4 ounces. It is not whippy as we have come to know UL rods we have here...it is a fast action. The tip is only .7 mm diameter. I looked and looked to find a rod from Japan that would compare to the Phenix Iron Feather....and this is it. While I won't try it I have seen videos where the tip is pulled down to the same level as the butt..or maybe even lower. Yet it has plenty of backbone for bigger trout and Smallies. It is 99 percent graphite with only one percent resin. How they do it over there I don't know but they sure put out some good stuff.

Regards

Thanks....yeah it is JDM. Fuji titanium frames and the new Torzite inserts are Fuji also. Fuji grip with Fuji carbon fiber lock nut. A 50 ton Toray blank is pretty high end. Here is link to a video that helped me make up my mind to get this rod. The rod I purchased starts at 8:29 but the first 10 minutes of the video shows some impressive stuff on their other rods. This thing screams "made for Trout Magnet" all over it.

Thanks juice. It is a hard road to navigate when you start out. I am a member over at TackleTour but most of those guys....even though they are nice and will help you as they can....are bass guys. They have a lot of info on buying a JDM bass rod but not many purchase 400 dollar UL rods.

Are you going to be that guy that lets his fish run all over the place because he is using to light of line..... 2lb, really merv? I found out last time that if the striper wants to go it's going to go, you are not in control.

BTW, I think a really high quality rod would come more in hand with super light line.

Such a wonderful friend you are Merv....LOL. I will pass on that offer though....LOL. I just looked and they dropped the flow at Normandy to 100 CFS. It will be cold tomorrow but will try to get some of those stocker trout to see how sensitive it really is.

Just occurred to me Ed that road to the dam off the highway will be impassable. So much for that plan.

I have...and that is where these Ajing rods I have purchased got their start from. I have a VOLKEY Super Finess Solid Tip VKS-S682L/SFS. It is rated for 1/64 through 1/4. While it is not the most expensive rod I have gotten out of Japan it is really a great rod. MidTNKayakAngler just got two Volkey BFS rods himself from Japan.
