Are we still doing a tourney format or has it changed?
If so then are we just weighing (1) largemouth or (1) smallmouth for those chasing bass?
I don't mind either way just look forward to having fun.

3. Catfish = big fish
Large mouth and Smallmouth must be alive.
If you catch a giant catfish and want to CPR, weigh it, take photo and have a witness.
If all agree then we can take up $10.00 per angler and Have gift cards for 1st place winners.
The date will be June 30th (Sat). Start time 06:30 and end at noon.
Location: Lagaurdo rec area, Old Hickory Lake on Hwy 109 in Lebanon.
There are picnic tables and a sand beach for swimming, now as far as food, I can bring my grill and I think that if you just brought what you want to eat and drink would be the best. I will bring extra burgers and buns and what not. What would be great if we could get some of our wifes to come and hold a spot for us...
If we all agree on the gift card, K-mart has Basspro gift cards that we could get. The date should give all advance notification to be able to attend.
This is going to be an awesome event and I am looking forward to meeting you all.
Don
PS...any legal means of fishing, be it cane pole, trolling what ever as long as it is legal, any type of bait as long as it is legal can be used. Pan fishers please only weigh in fish that you would normally keep for table fare. This will be an individual event, so if you have more than one person in your boat then it is up to you to keep track of your fish! Maybe use culling markers. The date has been changed to June 30th so that TK can attend. Also you may fish from the bank as long as you are within the Law..
Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Tennesseejugger for your effort, and for the invitation.
I guess I will the one who count your fish, unless if i catch something by coincidence.

Thanks for reposting the outline Newbie.
If someone chooses to fish from the bank, will they need to be at launch and leave with everyone else? What if they catch a bass/mess of panfish down lake somewhere off the bank. Are they required to bring them back or can they CPR those as well since they have to car ride the fish.
I am sure everyone wants to see fish at the end of the deal but don't want to see some die due to a car ride its bad enough in a boat after a hot day. If they are going to eat them then its no issue.

Travis, go back and read these 79 post and bring yourself up to speed .. http://www.fishingtn.com/showthread.php?t=5225 , also would not hurt to go back and read Page one, post one all the way to the last thread on this posting ...
This is a gathering of FTI members, not a tourney, If it is legal any member can do what he wants to do with his fish, (No brow beating if anyone keeps fish if it is legal) If they are fishing for bass from the bank it would be their responsabilty to keep it alive in a tank and aerator in the vehicle. Just like a boat ... If he is fishing for the award.
Like previously stated this is our first "Gaithering" and looking to have a lot of fun meeting the members ... Also previously stated we will be continuing updating information right up to the Gathering date of June 30th ...
For instance all members must meet at Laguardo at the offical FTI site ... So we can meet and make sure everyone is on the same page with times etc ... ... Folks will leave in boats and maybe cars/trucks as well ... The honor system on Livewells, Ice Chest etc ... If any member feels that He or She has to cheat to win during a fellowship meeting, well they need more help than what FishingTN.com can supply.
Organnizing a free style fun time like this ... IS NOT EASY (Hats off to TNJUG) ... and we are not going to bog it down with a lot of DETAILS, RULES and REG'S. ... As far as the $10 for the three catagories, well, that can be voluntary but only the particpants that entered will be eligible ...
I and all of the members are really looking forward to looking at a name tag (use both your Username and Sir name) and putting a face with the name ... Looking forward for those who are fishing for the first time in a boat ... who has never had the opportunity to do so but now from a FishingTN member who is gracious enough to take out a member who would have been bank bound . Also looking forward to the food and fellowship ... This is what FishingTN. com is all about ... And I thank you ... <'TK><

I will have an open spot in my boat as well.
If anyone wants to learn how to fly fish for gills or bass let me know and I'll plan on just bringing fly rods etc.
Otherwise, I will just be chasing whatever with regular gear and leave the other at home.

Thanks Travis ... <'TK><
We will see who needs rides etc. That morning ... better yet .. Maybe the week before the "Gathering" we will get a list of the folks with a spare boat seat ... and a list of folks who need a ride and pair these folks up before hand to expedite things ... But to be honest no time clock is an issue here ... party time and fellowship is what this is going to be about .... <'TK><

If I get to make it, I plan on jug fishing. Nice, slow relaxing. That means I can take two other fellas on my boat. So anyone who wants to relax and jug fish you can hang with me. If we happen to catch a big catfish, one of my two fishing partners can have the prize or split it between themselves. I'm just here for the fun and party!

I may be interested in that! Or I was thinking of "Photographing" the event. But relaxing in a boat sounds awesome too!

MN,
let's stay in touch. Jug fishing is fun and relaxing. We may start out at the meeting site, then trailer the boat to below OH Dam, put in, fish for a few hours, then trailer back to the park. I just think the catfishing will be better below the dam, having never fished up in the lake section.
I'm not concerned with winning anything, just looking to meet a bunch of the guys on this site and make some new friends.

Been away for a few weeks as I'm finishing my last year of law school while working full time. So, glad I saw this event though. It's during my break from school and looks to be a great time! I also just picked up a used kayak to get out on the water and fish some.
I have to check a few things on my schedule but I will most likely be able to make this.
