Travis tried to explain it to me over the phone a few days ago, while I like the uni to uni, I'm gonna give the double Albright a try. I usually use swivels, but certain techniques call for line to line connections.

I will show you it next time I see you. It's easy and there are a couple ways to tie it. I use the one strand up the main line then back down method opposed to the doubled leader line wrap down the main line.

100% break strength as the braid actually conceals the knot.

I don't see a problem with sharing details in pm's, as I've done many times before. I also will gladly share info in person, as anyone who has talked to me face-to-face will attest to. The GSP is not a secret, and it also gets crowded...these are not simple coincidences. However, being there does not guarantee success. I've targeted stripers for years and feel fairly confident in my ability to catch them thanks in large part to the time, sweat, and lack of sleep I've put into my passion. Expecting a free handout in a publically accessible venue is going to rub people the wrong way. If you want info, approach me directly...you'll get a more detailed report than what I would EVER post publically.

I am giving MY opinion on this. I have absolutely zero involvement in what happens outside my own personal bubble. I understand and respect that others' may not agree with me, and that's fine...they are no more wrong or right than I am.

I wasn't talking about you, in case you thought that, and I won't say who it was. I'm referring to our facebook hangout TKA group which is a private group in which members have to be approved. Not everyone and their Mother on Facebook sees those posts. I figured at least within that group we should help each other out rather than just showoff catches and keep an attitude that could be seen by others as "nose in the air" with only sharing this info with a select few and only inviting those select few along for the rockfish outings. Those guys know me, they've fished in two kayak tourneys last year with me, one of which I placed in and my last name isn't exactly common haha. They know who I am. Almost every time I go fishing I post an open invite to everyone. Who's asking for a handout? Surely you're not trying to imply that I am because you couldn't be more wrong. I am as dedicated and passionate of a fisherman as you or anyone else on here and fish as much as I can and still keep the Mrs. happy. My work has paid off quite well lately with all the bass and now I'm trying to move onto another species. I don't get this attitude of being secretive with a group of people composed of people equally as passionate and dedicated of fishermen as one another. It makes you look like a jerk. Not you personally, "you" used as an impersonal pronoun.

People may not like it but I call it how it is. We shouldn't do it on Facebook nor in here. I'd never treat you all like that. This Fall I posted several reports of bass fishing including several 3-4lb bass and willingly told people what area of Priest I was fishing (didn't just say "Percy Priest") and what lures, depths, presentations, etc. were working. And can you believe it... the next weekend there weren't 5,000 boats all with stringers full of bass in the area like some seem to believe will happen if they help their fellow fishermen.

You could always keep it simple and just go braid to lure. No special knot to knot needed.

Jimmy,

#1: I'm sure you are passionate about fishing, but the dedication I question...especially in comparison to my own. There have been several instances in which you have stated you were going, only to no-show for various reasons. I take offense to the comparison, even if I am not the direct object of it. I have gone on fishing forays that have lasted well over 24 hrs, in terrible conditions, in waters others consider "dangerous", and sacrificed more money than I should have searching for my next bite. If I invite someone, or hear someone say they will be there in a public forum/Facebook group, then I am disappointed if said person no-shows...especially due to less than perfect conditions.

#2: posting bass fishing locations on priest with a highly detailed rundown of technique, lures, etc is in no way equal to posting a detailed report on a hot striper bite in a confined area for 2 reasons: bass are infinitely more plentiful in our waters due to their ability to replenish the population, and bass can be found in a variety of locations and caught on a equally varying number of presentations. Stripers feeding on top in the confined channel of the GSP can easily be overfished by a handful of unscrupulous anglers, and increased boat traffic will shut down the bite, effectively "ruining" the bite. Please don't make the mistake of assuming that keeping silent is equivalent to being a "jerk." I have locations I have shared with a select few that I trust will not spread the info like gossip. I'm not a jerk, but I enjoy what I have found and have seen the potential of certain areas completely die due to loose lips. This isn't unique to me, either. There are plenty of stories about "how it used to be" due to this same reason.

As for the Facebook group, I have never encountered the attitude you expressed from any of the members...and I have become friends with a number of them. Perhaps the issue is not "everyone else."

I normally would say real men only carry a .45 but I just recently traded my 1911 off and all I have left at the moment in a 9mm. I vote for a knife fight, much more personal.

I'm thinking 7mm mag, back to back, walk 1000 paces, turn, sit down drink a six pack (or a bottle of wine), say screw it and walk back, get in your cars and go home to a loving and beautiful wife.

Then get up on Saturday morning and go fish for the species of your choosing, in your desired location, using the presentations you deem fit for the occasion.

May the fish gods smile on you, let you catch the species of your choosing, to be released into the grease or water, whatever.

And last, and most important, remember. It's trying to catch fish, not life and death.

TK has the right idea. I didn't come here looking for rules. I'm a full grown man and I know how to act on the internet, and in person. I went back and looked at the thread(s) in question. Looks like there are some folks who can't mind their own business as well. If you step in the middle of a bar room fight to break it up, you do so with the full understanding that you are subject to catch a punch also.

When these little flare-ups happen, everyone should mind their own business and the two involved need to take it to private message. If I owned a guide service, the last thing I would do is get caught in a pissing match with someone over the internet, then follow that up with a link to my site. To each their own.

I am thinking that TK has a direct line to the White House, with Barrack and TK being so tight and all. Maybe TK will put in a call and arrange a beer summit to settle this matter.

I am pretty sure that drinking and driving is against the rules/law...... but depending on how much of a lightweight the other person is your plan could be genius!

Talk about minding your own business Pookie... What it comes down to is that I have permission to post my content here and I won't be bullied by someone who suffers from pure jealousy. It's really pathetic that a grown man thinks that this sort of bullying is ok. If he doesn't like my threads, he doesn't have to look at them. No one is forcing him to look..

Steel cage pillow fight because we all sound like 13 year girls pissing and moaning about each other.
