Wow I bet you werent expecting that! I like how they always stock a few larger ones now so you always have that chance. Nice fish! I might head below JPP today with trout mags and see what I can get into.

How long do these fish survive when the water warms up?

Rainbows can survive in temps as high as 77 degrees if water is well oxygenated. However that is the extreme and if the water temps were say 72 degrees if you hooked one and fought him in to landing he probably will not survive. I have found when the water hits 70 degrees below Normandy Dam the trout are gone. When it is in the high 60's I probably will quit going there to fish for trout.
