Hey Alpha, are you talking on the lake or below the dam?, I live 25 minutes away from this place I only fish the lake now that i have my little boat but used to fish below the dam heavily for stocked trout in the past, never caught any Walleye, Sauger or Smallmouth below the dam, what is the secret to catch them?? any info is apreciatted

I am talking below the dam. I have never caught any Smallies to talk about there...but know guys who were there on those 50 fish days. One guy caught 60 Smallies on a fly rod there. I have caught over 60 Spots in one day there...and on consecutive days. They had to be coming upstream to spawn...I think. I have had saugeye many times from there for supper. Keep in mind my son and I have no clue how to fish for walleyes but am including some pics of fish we have caught there....so if we knew how to fish for them no telling what we could do....all the walleye were between 21 and 23 inches. I have personally seen a 6 pound walleye caught below the dam. They are in there...no doubt.

Awsome!!!, I think i can save the trip to Center Hill for the 'eyes, Normandy does have some big Crappies!!, I also have no clue as to how to fish for them Walleyes specially in such a small tailwater, but i think the trout or Crappie magnet could do some damage here, I love them pics as always!!, did you fish from the bank here or used them kayaks??, once again thanks for the info!!

I wade fish there....when my knees let me...but the best way to fish it is from a kayak.....IMHO. You can paddle right up to the dam and let the kayak rest in the rocks on the left side of the dam and cast into the water coming out of the catch basin. With the water flowing at 100 to 200 CFS you can go down stream and then paddle back up. It is just a neat place to fish for me. It is only a 45 mile drive for me and I love catching the stocker trout on the ultra light. You can catch plenty of trout in the winter but you can also get a surprise fish every so often. Fishing there from March through June can be very exciting.

Thanks for the info Sir!! my little Riverhawk allows me to do this with a trolling motor i will give it a try one of these days, I just replied to your other Normandy post, I hope you get some good relief for that knee soon!!

A father and son canoed passed me today. The whole stretch to Cortners Mill is prime fishing. But in spring I stay away from Cortners Mill.....too many snakes there for me.

I agree with all the snakes at Cortner's, it is not uncommon to count a dozen of them in early Summer although the Trout fishing can be really good up until early June!!
