How'd the tournament go? I was going to try to make it but I was in a wedding yesterday so it was a little difficult trying to wake up...

Well, it was very tough fishing. We only caught two fish but they were enough for 2nd place and first place big fish. I didn’t have a bite, my partner caught them and I played net man. It be like that sometimes.

That’s him. Temp was 47-50 and color was chocolate to dingy. It got worse as the day went on.

Thanks...we always have a good time on the water. It was a beautiful day and enjoyed the uncharacteristic weather!

Main mid lake, main lake points on a red rat l trap. There was a distinct mudline where they came from.

Had 3 today for 7.6lbs. Caught a lot of fish and keepers, just never had the big bite. We were 3 oz from making 3rd and getting a little cash back. The winner had 15lbs in three fish!!!

Didn’t take any pics this week, we had 3 for 6lbs. Caught fish on spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Caught them all day long, off rocky banks. Two of the fish looked like they had swallowed softballs they were so fat!! Winner had 11lbs and a big beautiful smallmouth.

Had 5.85 in our three fish Sunday. 3rd was 6.40 I believe, big fish was 6.50, 8.90 won it I believe. Went out Saturday and caught some nice fish, had a limit by 8am. Lost some really nice fish both days. Never had a fish really eat the crankbait. All of them just had the back hook and just barely hooked. They’re just slapping at it. I’ve changed hooks, lighter action rod, slowed the retrieve, sped it up, loosened drag, even changed from fluorocarbon to mono. I tried a more natural color and didn’t get bit, picked up the chartreuse crank again wham, fish on. It’s getting about time to put it down and pick up a spinner bait or swim jig though. But I’m puzzled at the fish I’ve lost over the weekend and don’t know what else to do to execute and get the fish in the boat!

Didn’t take pics of Sunday fish but here’s some from Saturday

That’s the crank I’ve done my “damage” on. At the bottom of the pic is a sexxxy shad that just won’t get touched...
