Anyone ever tried karo syrup on night crawlers for cats. Older gentleman told me bout it and it worked good one time on jugs for me.

Might be some truth to that bait. I used to dig worms around and old mill that made sweet feed for cattle. I contained molasses and apparently got in the worms eating it. Had to scrub the slime from the worms of my hands after baiting a hook. One of the best cat baits I ever used.
Also wondering if anyone ever remembers catalpa worms. Haven't seen one in years.

I had an older guy tell me one time up in crossville that catalpa worms were his very best bait for cats. Over shrimp, liver, stink baits, ect. I never tried it but he swore by em.

I don't know why this works so well but it does. I usually add a little garlic as well.

I do it with hot dogs for catfish. Or you can make dough balls, I use wheat germ and oatmeal, boil some water and let it sit. Pinch off a piece, work it around your hook and dip it in the kool aid, or jello packet, and you have excellent carp bait!!

Not one single catfish was caught. These guys had a fire going on the bank so I pulled up and grilled those shrimp.... that also explains my lack of posting because I've not left the toilet in days. The bass were pretty active so I fished for those for most of the night. Caught maybe ten and lost a few others. I might have cat fished for 45 minutes. My friend hung something that pulled him around in his yak but he ended up losing it after getting hung up in a submerged tree I warned him about.
