i dont want anybody to get offended by my price comments if they use whatever brand rod, im not dogging those brands either, obviously GLoomis makes a fine product, but personally, i just dont think i could spend over $100 on a rod and thats really pushing it for me.
Oh I'm not offended at all. Each step I made up in rods through the years my rear twitched a little....LOL. I don't buy these just because they are expensive. As I moved up the ladder in rods there was always a noticeable difference...to the good. When I bought my first JDM rod for 150 bucks I was blown away by the quality of the rod and sensitivity. So I took a leap and jumped up to the rods in the 200 dollar mark. I was also blown away by them. Then I got into the 300 dollar and above. Those rods are so far off the charts you can't explain it. While I will not say they will catch me more fish I will say I feel bites that I would have never felt before. I have such a passion for UL fishing and these rods take it to a new high for me. As someone on the Tackle Tour site said "You can't explain a JDM rod until someone has held it in their hands". That is so true. I save and budget for each one of these rods. I am not getting any younger and am really enjoying my fishing more than ever. Other than the JDM trout rod that I have these rods are designed to catch fish that are so small they weigh only a couple of ounces. When these fish bite it is my understanding that one can barely feel it....thus they created these great rods just to feel the that slightest tick. Not saying I want buy any more but I think I have bought my last one....LOL.

Regards

I stopped using expensive rods when my kids starting fishing with me. I have found they break or sink exactly like the cheap ones. And I am just as bad at breaking them as my kids are.

I like the johnny morris tourney specials, i bought 5 on sale at $30 a piece.

I just broke the Tip off on my Omen Saturday. It hurt a little inside. Alpha I would love to feel the difference in those rods.

I bet it did hurt. Welcome to try one anytime you see me around on the water. Hoping Normandy can get back down to fishable levels soon.

That's what I just told Jimmy. It's dropping a couple hundred CFS every day. Maybe by Sunday it will be somewhere around 200.
